This course introduces beginners to the fundamentals of drawing, starting at the very beginning of the learn-to-draw process. Students learn how to capture a believable likeness, create the impression of spatial dimension, and add accuracy to their artwork.
A variety of subjects are covered from still life, to human face and figure. Individual attention and weekly class discussion of assigned work strengthen student progress.

Painting for the Absolute and Utter Beginner

This is a foundation course for aspiring artists who want to learn basic painting principles and techniques. Students will follow a proven step- by- step method that begins at the very start of the learn-to-paint process, where no prior painting experience is necessary. They ‘ll learn to handle painting tools and materials with confidence, mix paint colors accurately, and create the impression of spatial dimension effectively. By the end of the class, they can expect to be able to paint convincing representations of three-dimensional still life subjects, as well as to see their own personal painting style emerge. This workshop teaches aspiring artists, who have no prior art experience, how to develop this skill. Students follow a proven step-by-step series of enjoyable exercises that begin at the very start of the learn-to-draw process.
